Pat Borders Appointed President of Separation Technologies

(Needham, MA) July 11, 2003 –Titan America is pleased to announce the appointment of Pat Borders as President of Separation Technologies (STI) based in Needham, MA. A Titan America business, STI provides fly ash management for coal-fired power generation plants as well as marketing processed fly ash, under the trade name ProAsh, to concrete manufacturers.

Pat Borders joined the Titan America business in 1997 as Vice President, Marketing and Sales of Roanoke Cement. Since 2000 he has held the position of Senior Vice President of Construction Materials, responsible for marketing and sales, for Roanoke Cement and Titan Virginia Ready-Mix. Over his 33-year career he has held executive marketing and management positions with Master Builders Technologies, Texas Industries, and Sika Corporation. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Millikin University.

The patented STI process separates the carbon from raw fly ash, a combustion waste byproduct from coal-fired power plants. STI markets the processed fly ash to concrete manufacturers that use it to produce a more cost effective mix with superior handling and strength.

STI separator plants are located in Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland and North Carolina as well as in Scotland. STI also markets unprocessed ash in Pennsylvania.
