Job Description: Powhatan Ready-Mix has an excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager in the Richmond area.
This salaried exempt position reports to the General Manager. The function of this position is to manage
all related activities of production for Powhatan. |

Job Responsibilities: Manage the efficient operation of seven (7) Powhatan Ready-Mix plants.
• Analyze all aspects of operations to achieve production budget requirements and assist Powhatan
Ready-Mix to achieve operational excellence.
• Manage financial aspects of position resolving disputes and verifying expenditures.
• Verify safety, scheduling and production results to ensure commitments are met.
• Ensure that operation remains in compliance with all applicable environmental standards.
• Ensure that a safe workplace is maintained, based on company policies, DOT regulations and OSHA
guidelines.
• Promote and measure performance of all personnel towards established objectives. Coach
individuals to optimum performance building a strong candidate pool for future opportunities.
• Consult daily with all departments to effectively optimize production to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assure critical activities at locations are reviewed and acted upon for desired results.
• Accept responsibility for special projects from conception through implementation and verification
of results. |

Job Requirements: • Associates Degree or higher required with a minimum of five years ready-mix production
experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in production supervision.
• Ability to articulate operational excellence from break room to boardroom and devise strategy to
motivate and achieve a workforce to obtain this goal.
• Requires strong problem solving and decision making ability.
• Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office in order to create spreadsheets
and prepare reports.
• Ability to understand financial reports and prepare budgets.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills usually acquired through
college level course work or five years experience analyzing data, preparing reports, giving
presentations or facilitating groups.
• Working knowledge of sales, customer service, quality assurance and plant and truck maintenance. |
